Adult Art Classes NDIS Eligible

Sunshine Coast NDIS Art Classes | NDIS Art Workshops

Expressive Art Group, is an inclusive adult art group for people who enjoy socialising and learning how to express their creativity using a variety of art materials and techniques.

This art group is unique to the Sunshine Coast as founders Chony Bowden who is a QCT registered and experienced arts facilitator and Sally Cuthbert who is an ANZACATA registered art therapist interweave their decades of experience to provide a creative refuge for adults who are supported by all funding streams including NDIS. This weekly session is a small group of no more than 13 participants, so that the facilitators have time to spend with each person.

Each term local artists are invited to facilitate alongside Chony or Sally which aims to provide opportunities for our participants to learn art techniques from people who are passionate about a particular art medium.

Both Chony and Sally use their extensive art networks to support their participants to gain confidence in the community by (when possible) exhibiting their artworks at gallery exhibitions, attending local art galleries, making art to contribute to exhibitions and attending workshops led by local and international artists in gallery spaces.

Chony's Art School is based on the premise that no two art works will ever be alike. It is project-based, which means students will be creating an art work at times for up to 4 weeks and then the materials and processes will alternate. Participants are guided to explore and express themselves using at times- clay, watercolour, acrylic paint, sketching, sculpture, intuitive mark making, and collage (just to name a few).

Check out Instagram - chonys.art.room or Facebook Chonys Art Room for visuals of what the children have been creating.
