About the Event
Hosted by Chony who is an award winning Visual Art Teacher, who has taught all ages both Internationally and Nationally.
Chony expertly guides students to sketch an outline of a turtle while learning about spacial, page and perspective awareness. Â Next, they are guided to look closely at the textures, lines and skin / shell tones of turtles, which assists them with using oil pastels to add colour, tone and texture to 'fill' in the turtle.
Once finished, a wash of cool colour water colours are added over the top of the turtle, together with inks to add a feeling of depth and rhtyhm to the ocean.
All of these art techniques and skills are developed while listening to 'under the sea' meditative music. Chony includes theme connected meditative music to her classes as she has found that students develop a deeper connection and understanding of what they are creating as well as encouraging people to calmly drop into the space and create.
Each student will take home a very unique, invidual 'Under the Sea, Turtle', multi-media art work.
