This year the door of Chony's Art School opened in Term 2, with a group of eager young local artists and innovative thinkers.
In Term 3, our Tuesday afternoon class was at capacity, so we added Wednesday afternoons to our schedule which also became full of young creative's ready to express their inner, unique artistic freedom when approaching every art project.
The goal of Chony's Art School is to provide opportunities for local young artists to explore a large variety of art materials and techniques, turning these into individually creative art projects / art works while connecting with each other in a safe and welcoming space.
We have set our hands, hearts and minds to materials such as:- clay, inks, water colours, multi-media, acrylic on canvas, up-cycled sculptures, cardboard mask making, sketching techniques, collage and in 2023 there is ALOT more to come!
'I want to show my students that there is so much to being creative. That art is not just drawing and painting, it is about thinking, trusting, 'letting go' and having FUN!.
Next year Chony's Art School will continue at The Coolum Hearts Shed on the Cnr of Sunrise and Elizabeth Avenues in Coolum on Tuesday and Wednesday's from 3.30-5pm for ages 7-14 years of age.
We aim to be opening up Chony's Art School in another Sunshine Coast location next year, together with classes aimed at teenagers.
