Christmas Art Workshops Sunshine Coast

Updated: Sep 18

Christmas is a pretty exciting time of year for many people around the world, particularly children. Finding nurturing and creative workshops for children to attend to occupy and stimulate their imaginations is important during long school holiday breaks.

I (Chony) have been asked every school holidays if I am running a School holiday art workshop program and most of the school holidays this year I have not due to working on commission art pieces. However, this up-coming Christmas school holidays I have put together a diverse array of art based sessions for young artists to enjoy.

Young people have the opportunity to get their hands 'dirty' using sun clay to roll out and cut out shapes, to create Christmas decorations. They will be provided with an assortment of glass and other mosaic shapes to add colour to their designs. These will be a lovely present for a loved one or look great on the Christmas tree!.

They can turn your walls into galleries by painting an Australian favourite - the kookaburra or black cockatoo using acrylic paint on Canvas. Or, get crafty with multi-media, oil pastels and inks to build a whale or turtle work of art on high quality 300 gsm artists paper.

It is a really exciting time of the year and I am really looking forward to making my hands colourful again with some familiar faces from Chony's Art School and some new faces from the Sunshine Coast community in December and January until school resumes again.
