Commemorative Mirka Mora Mural - Richmond Primary School

Updated: Apr 2

Mirka Mora was an amazing, generous and talented member of the Richmond and surrounding Melbourne suburbs community whose art inspired us all. Her rich, vibrant, childlike, mysterious and colourful style inspired joy in all those who spent time with her work. William Mora, from Mora Galleries in Richmond, Victoria, explained Mirka as being a passionate lover of animals, children, colour and life.

It was an absolute honour to have been asked by William Mora to design and create a large mural that commemorated her style and life. William and Anna Mora, alongside their daughter Carlotta and some students from Richmond Primary School worked alongside each other to design, paint and display this art mural, which was an adaptation of her work, "Young Lovers in the Garden".

William Mora spoke at the presentation and the family has donated a plaque in honour of the occasion to be installed beside the work. The painting will be hung in the school's courtyard for all students and families to enjoy.

Mirka Mora's legacy and passion will continue through the hearts and voices of the next generation.
